Meet the wonder kid singer of Assam, Asthajit Ananda

Guwahati, Nov.26 : Believe it or not, three-year-old girl Asthajit Ananda, who is yet to learn all the alphabets of language, has flabbergasted many people here by showcasing her exceptional singing talent. Her first music album was released recently.

Bollywood’s legendary musician and composer Anandji of Kalyanji-Anandji fame appreciated the girl’s talent while releasing her first music album. It consists of songs written and sung by Assamese music legend Bhupen Hazarika.

Asthajit Ananda has been singing the Bhupen Hazarika’s songs since she was just two years old.

"I was surprised after meeting her. It is a matter of natures’ gift to her. At times, a man one doesn't learn even after teaching. One can do this (sing) only when one has a natural gift. Neither, she has any idea of “Sur”(tune) nor of “Taal (beat). No one has taught her and it's really difficult to sing in the rhythm," said Anandji.

Popular music company HMV has come up with the album "Tumar Ganar Kulat” containing ten evergreen songs of Bhupen Hazarika in her voice. Not only is the music fraternity is overawed by her achievement, her parents are also amazed at her singing ability.

Elorannda Bordoloi, Mother of Asthajit Ananda, said: "Since birth she was very fond of listening songs. Whatever she watches on the Television, she wants to learn it. She doesn't like listening to lullabe before sleeping. She would cry listening to them."

Asthajit Ananda has already performed during many stage shows. (ANI)
