Ofcom unveils new copyright policy
Ofcom, the biggest ISPs of UK has informed that they are making a list of the users who are continuously breaking the copyright law. The plan is under consideration and practice now but the officials have anticipated that it will come out soon to control the copyright infringement.
The name of users and the number of times they have infringed will be logged by such application.
After implementation of this system, music and movie firms can also request for the details of the list so that they can find out the serial infringers and take action against them. They can send warning for three times to the infringers before taking action against them.
But some people are not happy with this decision. The executive director of the Open Rights Group has said that there are so many unanswered questions in this proposal.
The ORG has communicated with other organizations and proposed to draw up a set of principles. Sound evidence is necessary before taking any action and the accused consumers so that they can have the right to defend it.
The code is initially implemented to the big ISPs but later it is expected to be applied into mobile networks as well.
