Quebec: Health Minister Tony Clement has said that Canada is ready to tackle any worldwide pandemic outbreak as a Quebec City-based influenza vaccine production facility is near completion.

Pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE:GSK), owns the facility, which is in the final stages of the nearly $200-million expansion.

Clement said that in past few years the fast efforts to get ready for an outbreak have been made.  

Toronto: The Canadian researchers are launching a large multi-year international study, in order to find a way to help the men diagnosed with prostate cancer.

New Delhi: Household paint samples taken from Delhi and Mumbai markets, are tested positive for presence of heavy metals’ high levels.

On Wednesday, a non-government organization “Toxics Link” released the study: “A Brush with Toxics: An Investigation on Lead in Household Paints in India.”

The study claims to have found high levels of lead in household paint samples. The samples were tested in as Indian laboratory as well as in New York Laboratory.

The UK Mobile Telecommunications and Health Research (MTHR) Programme’s report has revealed that mobile phones have no harmful effects on human health or biology.

According to the report, the majority of available evidences relate to short term use, and further research is needed before one can be certain of longer term effects.

Mumbai: Ajanta Pharmaceuticals has signed an licensing contract with Canada-based Prollenium Medical Technologies to exclusively market the latter’s dermal filler ‘Revanesse’ in the Indian market.

A message from Ajanta Pharmaceuticals said that the Prollenium Technologies has its proficiency in “medical aesthetics.”

The note added that revanesse adds volume and polishes out deficiencies in the skin and also helps protect delicate skin areas from maturating.
