Mumbai, July 3 : Sooraj Pancholi, who was in judicial custody for allegedly abetting actress Jiah Khan's death, has got bail and returned home. His mother Zarina Wahab is relieved and says she is also praying for the "Nishabd" actor.

Sooraj, who was arrested June 10, was granted bail by Bombay High Court Monday. He has been ordered to pay a surety of Rs. 50,000, surrender his passport and report to police whenever required for investigations. He returned home Tuesday evening.

Vodafone India on Tuesday revealed that it had offered to pay the government Rs 4,000 crore for extension of its 2G licences in three circles for another twenty years.

The India ram of the British telecommunications giant said it offered to pay the government Rs 1,700 crore for the Delhi circle, and Rs 1,700 crore and Rs 600 crore for Mumbai and Kolkata circles, respectively. In these three circles, the company's 2G licences will expire in November 2014.

Any violation of regulatory rules in the banking industry will not be tolerated, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Executive Director G Padmanabhan said.

Speaking at the occasion of the launch of a new domestic money remittance service by Western Union Money Transfer and Kotak Mahindra Bank, Mr. Padmanabhan said that he was quite intolerant to illegal financial activities like money laundering.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has confirmed its plans to implement a new system to monitor and improve civic services like garbage collection and water supply.

The system under consideration will scientifically map civic services provided by the BMC and set time-limits to ensure timely services. Using the new system, the civic body will, for example, will be able to know on daily basis the extent of waste disposed, garbage segregated, as well as loss of water due to leakages.

Beijing, July 3 : The purchasing managers' index (PMI) for China's non-manufacturing sector stood at 53.9 percent in June, down from 54.3 percent in May, according to official data released Wednesday.

A PMI reading above 50 percent indicates expansion, while a reading below 50 percent indicates contraction.

The statistics were jointly released by the National Bureau of Statistics and the China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing (CFLP), reported Xinhua.

Seoul, July 3 : South Korea's foreign reserves reduced last month as the government repaid foreign debts that were borrowed to stabilize the local foreign exchange market, central bank data showed Wednesday.

Foreign reserves were $326.44 billion as of the end of June, down $1.66 billion from the prior month, according to the Bank of Korea.

The reduction came after the so-called foreign exchange stabilization bonds worth $1.02 billion were repaid last month on maturity, the central bank said, noting that the bonds were issued 10 years earlier, reported Xinhua.
