Paytm helps artisans at Jodhpur's annual Handicrafts Mela to go cashless

New Delhi [India], Feb 10 : Paytm announced today that its QR code based payment solution is now powering hundreds of small merchants at Jodhpur's annual Handicrafts Mela. Visitors can now scan the Paytm QR Codes in the respective stall to pay instantly.

Over the past months, Paytm has successfully introduced new avenues for digital payments in India including its recently launched use-cases like tolls, hospitals, diary outlets, diagnostic centers, canteens, parking and automobile service centers among others. It is currently in the process of introducing newer use-cases like apartment maintenance and traffic challan. The company's unique and affordable cashless payment solution helps small and medium merchants accept mobile payments for free without investing in a card machine.

Paytm has also undertaken several initiatives to help the country's merchants start accepting digital payments for free. It has made its platform available in10 different regional languages - Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Marathi, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Oriya and Punjabi thereby resulting in a 5x traffic increase for the platform from smaller towns. It has also launched a 24*7 Merchant Helpline to assist merchants across India accepting payments using its cashless payment solution. (ANI)
