Kolkata, Aug 23: West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has appealed to his political adversary the Trinamool Congress to maintain peace and discuss with government to decide over the contentious TATA project.
He said he was trying to resolve the issue through holding talks with the Opposition parties.
"We are exchanging details of the project with the opposition in a cordial atmosphere. We are discussing this issue with the opposition and trying to solve it at highest level," said Bhattacharjee.
West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, considering the stock exchange an important component of the State’s industrial development, stressed on the need to revive the Calcutta Stock Exchange (CSE).
The chief minister also released a book “Down Lyons Range ” after inaugurating the centenary celebrations of the CSE. Lyons Range is where the heritage building of the
Mr. Bhattacharjee said that the State was emphasising on the manufacturing sector and these companies needed help from the CSE and banks for their further growth.
Kolkata, June 13: West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has invited Gorkha Janamukti Morcha Chief Bimal Gurung for talks on Darjeeling issue on June 18.
"Chief Minister has invited Bimal Gurung and his followers to meet him separately on June 18 at Writers Buildings to discuss the Darjeeling issue," Chief Minister's Secretariat sources said.
An all-party meeting would be held on June 17 on the issue, a day before this meeting.
Gurung had met the Chief Minister two months ago following renewed demand for a separate Gorkhaland State by the Gorkha Janamukti Morcha (GJM).

Kolkata, May 9 : West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee on Friday advocated the option for third front alleging that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has failed on all fronts.
Addressing a news conference in Kolkata today Bhattacharjee said that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) led by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has been facing defeat in almost all states since UPA came to power.
He listed failure to check rising prices as one of the major failures of UPA of which left parties are a part.
