Ines de la Fressange piped the French first lady to represent the "ultimate chic, urban classiness, and unflappable elegance" of the Parisian woman.

The 52-year-old topped the poll, conducted by Figaroscope, Le Figaro''s entertainment supplement, with 29.5 per cent of the votes while Carla, 41, came fifth with only 8.6 per cent, reports the Independent.

Carla Bruni SarkozyParis - France's First Lady, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, is going to court to prevent the sale of a shopping bag adorned with a photo of her in the nude, the online edition of the weekly Le Point reported on Friday.

Bruni-Sarkozy's attorney, Thierry Herzog, said the bag - which is made by the Pardon company based on the island of La Reunion - damages her image, which was used without her consent.

"We will ask for a ban on the sale of this article and 125,000 euros (166,000 dollars) in damages," Herzog said. The money, if it is awarded, will be donated to charity, he added.

Carla Sarkozy to launch third album in July

Paris  - The third album by France's singing First Lady, Carla Sarkozy, is scheduled to hit music stores on July 21, French media reported on Wednesday.

The album is titled Comme si de Rien Etait (As if it Were Nothing), which is also the title of a photograph by her late brother, Virginio Bruni Tedeschi, said her agent, Bertrand de Labbey.

Most of the songs on the album were written before she began her relationship with the French president, in November of last year. The two were married in February.

Because of security reasons, Carla Sarkozy will not go on tour to publicize the album. Only several videos will accompany its launch. (dpa)
