London, Nov 11 : American actress-singer Lindsay Lohan's mother Dina claims that her daughter was dating late actor Heath Ledger before he died in 2008.
"Lindsay was dating Heath when he died," thesun. co. uk quoted Dina as saying.
In a chat with Lindsay's dad - recorded in 2008 - Dina attributes many of Lindsay's personal problems to Ledger's death. She also feared her daughter may end up going the same way due to drink and prescription drug addictions.

London, Oct 30 : The last music video directed by Heath Ledger, believed to have been the inspiration behind his Oscar winning performance as the Joker in The Dark Knight, has come to light.
The Aussie actor had directed the three-and-a-half rap minute video titled ‘Cause An Effect’ for his childhood rapper friend No Fixed Abode, before he died of a prescription drug overdose in January last year.
Ledger lensed the whole project in his Sydney garage using only one camera, adding dramatic make-up, bold colours and red light.

A new report for the Time to Change Campaign, backed by the Mind and Rethink charities, has claimed that Hollywood flicks portray schizophrenics and those with other mental illnesses only as either stupid or evil.

London, Aug 14 : Heath Ledger''s final film `The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus' could soon hit US theatres, as Hollywood bosses are said to be in advanced talks with a distributor to reel out the movie across America.
Executives in charge of the picture have been searching for a backers in the US for almost a year, but were finding it difficult to convince a company to release the experimental movie.
The film shows late actor Ledger, who died of an accidental drug overdose last year, portraying the role of a travelling magician.

Los Angeles - A video directed by Heath Ledger was released Tuesday, 19 months after the Australian-born actor died of an accidental drug overdose.
The video for the song King Rat by Modest Mouse is a hand-drawn, animated short film that reflects Ledger's passionate stance against the whaling industry. It shows a ship crewed by whales hunting down humans swimming in the ocean, skinning them and processing them into food for baby whales.
It closes with the words: "This began with our friend, a great defender of life, and was completed in his spirit."

London, July 24 : Heath Ledger's Manhattan apartment in which he died of an accidental drugs overdose has been sold in a foreclosure auction for 10 million pounds, it has emerged.
The `Dark Knight' star paid a rent of 15,330 pounds for the home, while he was living, until his death in January 2008, the Daily Express reports.
According to real-estate website therealdeal. com, Donald Burns from Palm Beach Mortgage Management reportedly made the winning bid through his lawyer, securing the home.

Washington, June 2 : Johnny Depp has named a beach on his 45-acre private Bahamian island after late Heath Ledger.
The `Pirates of the Caribbean' star has shown off his island, Little Hall''s Pond Cay, which he calls his "decompression", in July''s Vanity Fair.
"It''s my way of trying to return to normalcy. Escapism is survival to me," Us magazine quoted Depp as saying.
Little Hall''s Pond Cay features six different beaches, named after Depp''s partner, Vanessa Paradis, and their children, Lily Rose, 10, and Jack, 7, as well as his mentors Hunter S. Thompson and Marlon Brando.

Washington, May 25 : Director Terry Gilliam has said that it was Heath Ledger who saved his fantasy film ‘The Imaginarium Of Doctor Parnassus’ from being shelved, for it was the actor''s untimely death that pushed him to finish the project.
Ledger died of an accidental prescription drug overdose in January 2008, while he was shooting for the film.
The news devastated Gilliam, and he almost shut down the set.
However, his memories of the late actor prevented him from abandoning the project.

The flick titled ‘Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus’ directed by Terry Gilliam will open on 22nd of May, reports Contactmusic.
However, the flick will not be among those competing for film festival prizes.
Besides Ledger, the film features Christopher Plummer, Verne Troyer, Lily Cole and Tom Waits and renowned actors like Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell and Jude Law, who stepped in to complete the late actor''s scenes.

A band spokesperson revealed that the actor had directed the animated clip for “King Rat”.

Sydney, Mar 14: Matilda, Heath Ledger''s three-year-old daughter, has been officially named the sole beneficiary of his life insurance policy.
Following a Los Angeles court hearing, her custodian John Laviolette and lawyer William Shernoff emerged from Superior Court Judge Luis Lavin''s chambers wearing smiles.

London, Feb 25 : A U. S. judge has granted late actor Heath Ledger and actress Michelle Williams'' young daughter Matilda privacy.
Superior Court Judge Luis A. Lavin told the court that the late Ledger''s 3-year-old daughter should be protected from public scrutiny.
"She is not a celebrity. She is a minor child," the Daily Express quoted Judge Lavin, as saying.
Judge Lavin''s ruling was made after attorneys for her trust and insurance company Reliastar announced that they have reached an agreement to settle a 6.9 million dollar lawsuit.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has decided to hand over the trophy Matilda if Heath wins.
The Academy will hold the statuette until Matilda''s 18th birthday, when she will be able to sign the contract required of all winners.
The document bars award recipients from reselling the statuette without first offering it back to the Academy for 1 dollar.

Washington, Feb 20 : Although Hollywood actor Heath Ledger's father, Kim, is more than proud that his son has been nominated for the esteemed Oscar award, he feels that going to the ceremony on behalf of his late son will be a "bittersweet" experience.
Kim says that if is his late son wins, he definitely speak a few words.
He, however, adds that it is not necessary that Heath will only win, as anything can happen at the Oscars.
