Reeves awarded $15,000 after paternity case dismissed

London, Jan 9 : A Canadian woman who claims Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves is the father of her four children has had her case dismissed after a judge branded it "patently unbelievable" - and awarded the star $15,000 in damages.

Karen Sala filed a suit against the actor last year demanding millions of dollars in child support and spousal support payments, maintaining Reeves is the biological father of her four adult children.

She also alleged in an affidavit that Reeves agreed to take her to the Academy Awards and promised they would eventually wed.

Sala, 46, had sought 150,000 dollars-per-month in child support, retroactive from 1988, and 3 million dollars-a-month in spousal support, retroactive from 2006.

But her claims were proven false, as per the DNA tests results obtained by TMZ. com. (ANI)

Washington, Dec 18 : He might have starred in varied sci-fi flicks, but on the personal front, Keanu Reeves lives in the technological dark ages.

The hunk doesn't own a computer, and writes all correspondence on a typewriter.

The `The Matrix' actor revealed that he does not intend to get rid of his beloved typewriter and also added that he has no plans of embracing the internet.

"I prefer a typewriter. I enjoy the sensation of sitting down and taking time to think about what I want to say," Contactmusic quoted Keanu, as saying.

Keanu revealed that he appreciates the opportunity to write letters and scripts on an old-fashioned word processor.

According to studio estimates, romantic comedy `Four Christmases', starring Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn, came second with 13.3 million dollars, reports E! Online.

Catherine Hardwicke's `Twilight' landed the third spot after earning 8 million dollars while `Bolt' stood fourth with 7.5 million dollars.

`Australia', starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman, rounded off the top five with 4.3 million dollars.

Washington, Dec 9 : Keanu Reeves has signed on to star in "47 Ronin," an epic period film for Universal Pictures based on the true tale of a band of samurai swordsmen who avenged the death of their master in 18th century Japan.

In "47 Ronin," Reeves will play one of the swordsmen; the group and their master are revered in Japan for their revenge attack on Dec. 14, 1702, reports Variety.

The film will tell a stylized version of the story, mixing fantasy elements of the sort seen in "The Lord of the Rings" pics, with gritty battle scenes akin to those in films such as "Gladiator."

In both the original movie and the remake, Klaatu arrives on Earth with a warning, but here Klaatu is a friend of the planet but not of mankind, and if he kills the latter, the former will survive.
