Lebanon's Suleiman to visit Paris for talks with Sarkozy Beirut - Lebanon's President Michel Suleiman will head a government delegation on a three-day visit to France next week, a Lebanese government source said Saturday.

Foreign Minister Fawzi Salloukh, Interior Minister Ziad Baroud and Economy and Trade Minister Mohammad Safadi will be among those accompanying Suleiman, who will meet with President Nicolas Sarkozy.

Suleiman is due to address a dinner hosted by Sarkozy and also address the French Senate and the Lebanese community in Paris.

Lebanese factions vow to carry out peaceful elections

President Michel SuleimanBeirut  - Lebanon's rival political factions vowed on Monday to carry out a peaceful legislative election in June, a statement by the Lebanese presidential palace said.

The conferees pledged "not to resort to any kind of violence," President Michel Suleiman's office said in a statement.

The pledge came during the fifth round of national dialogue talks between the ruling majority in parliament that is against former Lebanese powerbroker Syria and the opposition led by the pro-Syrian Islamist group Hezbollah.

Suleiman is expected to discuss with his German counterpart Horst Koehler and Chancellor Angela Merkel political and security issues, as well as Lebanon's financial debt, the source said.

Lebanese president arrives in TehranTehran - Lebanese President Michel Suleiman arrived in Tehran Monday for a two-day state visit and talks with his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

The two will discuss expanding bilateral ties, the situation in the Middle East and how to approach Israel, reports said.

Suleiman, the third Lebanese president to visit Tehran since the 1979 Islamic revolution, is expected to sign some initial agreements with Iran during his two-day stay.
