New York, Oct. 6 : America’s best chance to eliminate Al Qaeda mastermind Osama bin Laden came in 2001 itself, shortly after the 9/11 attacks, but this plan was nixed, according to a former officer of the elite Delta Force.

A CBS report says that shortly after 9/11, the Pentagon issued a simple order to a top secret team of American commandos in Afghanistan – “Kill Osama bin Laden”.

The officer in command of that operation, has decided to break his silence after seven years to set the record straight.

London, September 15 : A British security expert has revealed that he has broken safes for Al-Q''aeda head Osama bin Laden and Ugandan dictator Idi Amin, whom he describes as "friendly" and “fun” respectively.

Arthur Riding, 59, said that he met Laden dozens of times while working in the Middle East.

He said that he had installed bulletproof glass at Laden''s home in Saudi Arabia.

He even revealed that he once opened a safe for the terror chief.

"You could talk to him and he was reasonably friendly. There was no clue that he would go on to do what he has done," the Telegraph quoted the father-of-one from Birmingham as saying.

London, Sept 12 : A senior British police officer who had attended a Cornish village fete dressed as terror mastermind Osama bin Laden had to apologise for his insensitive act.

According to the Sun, Chief Superintendent Colin Terry in his apology insisted that he didn’t intend to cause offence willingly and his act was an error of judgment on his part.

“I should have been more careful because of my job,” added the cop.

Terry — a Devon & Cornwall officer currently working in Afghanistan — also wore a white turban, scarf and Arab robe.

London - A British policeman who dressed up as Osama bin Laden during a village fete has attracted the wrath of his superiors and is being reported to a complaints commission, police said Wednesday.

Chief Superintendent Colin Terry took part in a village carnival in Grampound, in the south-western region of Cornwall, last Saturday, a few days before the seventh anniversary of the September 11 attacks in the US.
