Lahore, Feb. 26 : The United States has refused to comment on the Pakistan Supreme Court's decision to disqualify former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his brother Shahbaz Sharif form contesting elections, saying it is Pakistan's `internal matter'.

According to The Daily Times, a statement issued by the US State Department said: "The disqualification was an internal matter and Washington would not comment on it."

Islamabad, Feb 4 : Pakistan Punjab province Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Chief Justice Abdul Hameed Dogar had offered PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif scrapping of the case regarding his disqualification on showing flexibility over judges issue.

Shahbaz said that PML-N would not accept judges who flourished under a dictator's umbrella.

He threatened to launch a public struggle if he was disqualified, The Nation reported.

The PPP ministers had only a few days back started attending offices after a long gap following straining of the ties between the two parties a couple of months ago.

Lahore, Aug 27: Punjab Chief Minister and PML (N) president, Shahbaz Sharif has reportedly said that his party had the majority in his Punjab province and that anyone trying to “intervene” into its politics would be dealt with “by force”.

He said this while addressing the parliamentary party meeting at Chief Minister’s Secretariat last evening.

Karachi, July 5 : PML-N president and Punjab Chief Minister, Shahbaz Sharif has reportedly denied rumors of a breakup with the PPP over the restoration of the non-PCO judges.

He said the breakup of the alliance would mean once again strengthening the dictatorship in the country.

“If the alliance is broken on the judges’ issue, it would be supportive of the dictatorship. It would not be wise for us to fight each other on the issue,” the Daily Times quoted Sharif as saying at a press conference.

Sharif accepted that there were dissimilarities between the two parties on some issues but those differences are not between two enemies but between “family members”.
