Two pirate boats have been destroyed by a NATO royal warship which was on an anti-piracy mission in Somali. The helicopter of HMS Chatham spotted these two pirate boats around 150 miles in Somali Basin.
After detecting these two boats a marine team had been sent at the night. They were on a well planned operation to destroy them. The two boats were destroyed and ten Somali pirates surrendered after this attack.
The commanding officer of HMS Chatham Commander Simon Huntington has said that he was very much pleased that one of their warships has successfully destroyed the pirate boats in Somali Basin and prevented the attack against merchant ships. He has also said that the intention of NATO is very clear now to continue fight against piracy in this particular area.
When the marine team got control over the larger pirate boat, they found ten Somalis inside it. There was a large amount of fuel on the boat as well. They have seized two boats. These boats have powerful outboard engines and a huge amount of fuel.
