Rafael Nadal Wins Gold In Olympic Tennis

Rafael Nadal has gained the Olympic medal at the Olympic Green Tennis Centre Rafael Nadal Wins Gold In Olympic Tennis  on Sunday. He defeated Fernando Gonzalez of Chile with 6-3, 7-6(2), 6-3 in a very interesting game. He has not only decorated his own career but also increased the prestige of his native land Spain by getting first gold in tennis for the country. He will be now counted in the top five players of the world.

He played with usual intensity, athleticism and imagination and secured the victory. He has now becomes NO.1 player of the world. Though he was given stiff competition by Chilean Fernando Gonzalez, he tactfully handled the situation and won the medal. Fernando Gonzalez is also a good player. He secured silver medal in the event and add it to the list of his singles bronze and doubles gold of Athens 2004. Once upon a time he was also accused by James Blake for bad sportsmanship.
 
Gonzalez lost the first set of the match to Rafael Nadal and gave a stiff competition for the second set of the game. He buried his forehand into the net on the next point but it was efficiently handled by good tie-breaker, Nadal. The match lasted for two hours and 22 minutes and ultimately won by Nadal. He was congratulated for his success by various players and top government and support officials.

Expressing shock on his defeat, Gonzalez said that he came here to win the medal for his country but stopped by Nadal to accomplish his dream.
