DRI Chennai seizes Ketamine worth Rs 20 crore

In the country’s biggest haul of ketamine hydrochloride, worth more than Rs 20 crore in the international market, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) seized 197 kg of the drug from a Malaysia-bound container at the Chennai port on Tuesday. The method used to send the consignment was novel - ketamine was packed in red-colored packets shaped like onions!

DRI officials, after receiving a tip-off about the concealment, checked a container named ‘Bangalore onion’ that was ready for shipment after Customs clearance. They found packets of the drug, placed in the corner of the container, next to some onions.

DPI stages protest in Chennai over Lankan Tamil issue

Tamil NaduChennai, Nov 18 : Dalit Panther of India (DPI), a regional political party of Tamil Nadu, took out a massive rally in Chennai on Tuesday to protest against the military offensive in northern Sri Lanka.

The protesters were demanding that the Indian government should intervene and ask the Sri Lankan government to order ceasefire and put an end to the war that''s going on in Tamil dominated areas of Sri Lanka.

Apollo Tyres Plans Rs 3,000 crore Investment in Next 5 Years

Apollo TyresIndian tyre manufacturer Apollo Tyres, has announced an investment of Rs 3,000 crores in the next five years to establish greenfield plants in India as well as abroad, along with expansion of existing production units.
