Bangalore, Apr 2 : Senior Congress leader and former Karnataka Chief Minister, M Veerappa Moily, today filed his nomination for Lok Sabha elections as a Congress candidate from Chikballapur constituency.
Earlier in the day, he resigned as the Chairman of the Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC). Moily as the ARC chief was instrumental in bringing out reports on a variety of topics concerning governance as also one on terrorism.
Bangalore, Mar 26 : Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone on Thursday announced that a ten-kilometer marathon would be held here on May 31, 2009.
Padukone, who is promoting the marathon, said she would try to run as much as she could in the marathon.
"I have been practicing yoga for the past few years. I don't know how much that is going to help me. Maybe not in terms of endurance but definitely in terms of metal strength. In flexibility, I think I have a decent stamina. So, I will try and run as much as I can," she said.

Hindu right-wing leaders objected to Hemanth Hegde's plan to erect the 18-metre-high statue of Chaplin on Maravanthe beach, about 400 kilometres west of Karnataka capital Bangalore, because the actor was a Christian, the Times of India newspaper reported.
