London, Sep 29 : Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s female police bodyguard, who left a gun in a Starbucks toilet, has done it before. 

Vicky McPherson was axed last month after removing a belt holding the Glock 17 to relieve herself. 

Now, it has emerged that she did the same on a trip to the US with the ex-PM in May. A toilet attendant found her gun in a hotel loo in Orlando, Florida, The Sun reported. 

It was passed to a UK official who chased after Vicky, 35, to return it. Officers investigating the Starbucks incident have only just been told about the earlier gaffe — which was kept secret. 

A source said there is a clamour for Vicky, dubbed “Calamity Jane” by colleagues, to be axed. 

London, Sept 29 : If you believe that Humpty Dumpty in the popular nursery rhyme was an egg, then better think again, for a new book has revealed that the character was apparently a giant cannon used during the English Civil War of 1642-1651.

Sam Foster’s book ‘Hey Diddle Diddle’ claims that Humpty Dumpty was a large Royalist gun on the wall of a church in Colchester in the English Civil War, which fell off and broke during a siege.

The author says that the soldiers could not repair the gun, reports British tabloid The Sun. 

Foster also writes that the popular Georgie Porgie poem originally talks about George Villiers, the first Duke of Buckingham and a pal of England’s King James I. 

London, Sept 29 : The number of students being caught cheating in exams have significantly worsened at London Metropolitan University as compared to 73 other universities, which released the figures under the Freedom of Information Act.

According to the figures, 65 students there were caught cheating in formal exams in the 2006-07 academic year and 801 plagiarists, than any other universities giving information

The second spot went to Westminster University, with 39 exam cheats, reports Times Online.

UK’s South Bank University landed the third spot with 35 students caught for offences, including talking in a foreign language before the end of an exam.

London, Sept 29 : Rapists and paedophiles in a UK hospital are being taken on a shopping spree, along with trips to cinema and takeaway joints.

Sources have revealed that sex offenders held under the Mental Health Act at Brooklands Hospital in Marston Green, Solihull, West Midlands are being allowed to visit out for several hours or entire days, in a bid to reintroduce them to community life. 

“A lot go food and clothes shopping nearby. And they like having lunch at McDonald’s or wherever,” the Daily Star quoted a source as saying

However, Michelle Elliott, of charity Kidscape said: “If there are dangerous sex offenders being allowed out then the community has a right to know.” 

London, Sept 29 : Although Brits admit that they would like to live till the age of 82, a majority of them doubt whether they would be able to make it, according to new survey.

The average life span for a man in the UK is 77, and 81 for women.

A poll of 2000 people showed that British men believed that they would die at 72, and women thought that they would live up to 75. 

Just three per cent of Brits actually looked forward to getting old, while 43 per cent admitted that they dreaded it, reports British tabloid The Sun.

Nearly 79 per cent feared that they would loose their intellectual faculties, and doubted remaining mentally agile.

London, Sept.29: Islamic extremists have warned of a wave of reprisals over a controversial book about the Prophet Mohammed after the home of its publisher was firebombed.
 
Hard line clerics have said that further attacks would be "inevitable" if publication of the novel, The Jewel of Medina, goes ahead as planned next month.
 
A Telegraph report said that the attack came days after Rynja's company, Gibson Square, bought the rights to the book by the American writer Sherry Jones, which has already been likened to Sir Salman Rushdie's The Satanic Verses.
