London, Sept 3 : A devout Christian group is taking an art centre to court, claiming it displayed a statue of Jesus Christ with an erection.

The artwork was part of the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art''s September 2007-January 2008 exhibition Gone, Yet Still, by the controversial Chinese artist Terence Koh, which featured several plaster figures with erections.

The sculptures included Mickey Mouse and ET - all in some state of arousal, reports Guardian. Co. Uk.

London, September 3: If the US army has its way, the fictional world of Star Trek will come a step closer to reality, what with plans underway for the development of lethal laser guns in another five years.

According to a report in New Scientist, the Boeing company, manufacturers of commercial airplanes, has won a 36 million dollars contract recently from the US Army Space and Missile Defense Command to build the optics needed to track and focus lethal laser energy onto rockets, artillery shells and mortar rounds.

London  - An art gallery in Britain which exhibited a statue of Jesus Christ with an erection was taken to court by a devout Christian Tuesday who said she was offended by the work and argued that the gallery would "not have dared" to portray Mohammed, let alone in that way.

The artwork was part of an exhibition at Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, near the north-eastern city of Newcastle, which featured dozens of plaster figures including Mickey Mouse, ET, and Jesus - all with erections.

The items were shown in a presentation a year ago of works by controversial Chinese artist Terence Koh.

London, Sept 2: Scientists from Wake Forest University School of
Medicine have identified a new variant in the gene HNF1B, responsible
for developing prostate cancer.

The research team has reported the discovery of a second independent
site within the HNF1B gene on chromosome 17 (17q12), thus increasing
the number of genetic variants that may contribute to risk of
developing the disease.

Jianfeng Xu, M. D., Dr. Ph. H, senior researcher on the study and a
professor of epidemiology and cancer biology and Director of the Center
for Cancer Genomics then compared the newly discovered site with the
site discovered earlier in the same gene and said, “these data strongly
suggest that the two sites are genetically independent.

London, Sept 2 : In the ongoing sex on the beach case in Dubai, it has emerged that British man Vince Acors had formerly admitted to having had sex on the Jumeirah Beach.

Acors, 34, from Bromley, southeast London had initially told the police that he had had full intercourse with fellow Briton Michelle Palmer, 36, but later changed his statement and denied it, as revealed by senior prosecutor Faisal Abdelmalek Ahli.

A policeman had caught Palmer, a publishing executive from Oakham, Leicestershire, and Acors in the act, and had at first issued them a warning, but when he passed their way again and saw that they had not stopped, he arrested them.
