Cyberjaya, Apr. 13 : Malaysian gamers have achieved world record by playing video games for 40 hours non-stop.

It took more than 1,500 cans of energy drink and 274 people to beat their sleep at Cyberfusion 2009 on Sunday to get Malaysia's name into the Guinness Book of World Records, the New Straits Times reports.

The previous record of 36 hours by 203 gamers set in California last year, was broken when organizers Cyberview and Advanced Micro Devices added two more hours to the original 38, and the players agreed to it.

Baisakhi is one of the most important dates in the Sikh calendar, celebrated in April every year.

The temple started celebrations a day early this year to enable those who were occupied with work or other commitments on the actual day to perform their prayers, The Star reported.

Kuala Lumpur - A Malaysian teenage girl has lodged a report against a dentist, claiming that he had molested her during a dental appointment, a news report said Monday. The dentist, a local political leader in his 50s, allegedly took advantage of the girl and molested her while they were alone in the treatment room of his clinic in the southern state of Johor.

The victim left the clinic and informed her parents of the incident before lodging a police report, the Star daily reported.

Kuala Lumpur, Apr. 12 : The Malaysian Indian Congress may withdraw its lone cabinet minister and two deputy ministers from the central Government as a protest measure against ignorance of Indian community.

According to a senior party official, the proposal was drawn up at a meeting of top party officials on Friday.

Ipoh (Malaysia), Apr. 11 : India defeated arch rivals Pakistan 2-1 to reach the finals of the Sultan Azlan Shah Hockey tournament here on Saturday.

Both the teams were locked 1-1 till the 59th minute of the game, but a superb goal by Sandeep Singh in the 60th minute ensured India a berth in the final of the tournament which would be played on Sunday.
