Sarah Jessica Parker: ‘Sex & The City’ sequel will address ongoing recession

Jessica Parker scotches rumours of impending split from hubbyWashington, February 18 : Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that the `Sex & The City' sequel will set itself in the present scenario of global economic slump.

The actress, who played the leading role as Carrie Bradshaw on the television series and in its film adaptation, said that mirroring the tough times in the luxury and label conscious series would pose a challenge but it would still be an interesting one nevertheless.

"How do we address these economic times in a franchise that has a lot to do with luxury and labels?" Contactmusic quoted her as telling Access Hollywood.

"How do we do that well? And how do we do that in a not lazy way?

"There is a lot that we have to think about because times are very different. So these are nice challenges, these are good challenges," she added.

Parker, however, promised that the second big screen adaptation would still be no less than a thrill.

She added: "I think we want this one to be a romp. The last one, we got to tell a really mature sophisticated story that had real heartbreak in it, and this time, I think we want a romp. We want our audience to have a massive romp." (ANI)
