A sea change need- Transplantation Act

A sea change need- Transplantation ActMaking a vital move towards progress, Indian Government seems to have learnt a lesson from Late Jyoti Basu’s demise. Heartening this gesture of organ donation with open hands not only will provide a solution for the need of organs but also spread awareness.

The concern here in India is lack of cadaver donors. Most of them are either offended or don’t know about it. Whereas, in UK 12 out of a million people, generously donate their body. This leads to another scenario where a patient has to wait till he gets the right organ. Which means individuals suffering from ailments like diabetes, sickle cell anemia, fatty deposition on livers cannot donate their organs. This reduces the population by a major chunk (India is the diabetic capital).

Hereafter, question arises about the awareness which still seems to be an ongoing process, in its embryonic stage. And then it’s the gap between patients needing transplants and potential donors. To add to its mighty deeds are-Indian acts. Organ donation would be easier if the government makes certain amendments in the Transplantation Act.

The sooner it happens the earlier we move ahead in the light of advancement.
