After trading in lethargic manner since the opening bell, the Indian stock market eventually came down and lost 125.54 points to touch the low of 14,161.76.

Sensex continued to trade in negative terrain ahead of inflation declaration.

At 1:13 pm, the BSE Sensex lost 88.64 points at 14198.57, while NSE Nifty stood at 4299.80, 13.45 points.

The market experienced 1,179 advancements, 1,200 declinations while 82 remained unchanged.

Among the sectoral indices, BSE metal arose 1.14%, while BSE consumer durables rose 0.48% while BSE Oil and Gas rose 1.11% and BSE Power rose 0.32%

Major gainers in the 30-share index included Tata Steel, Dlf Ltd, Reliance, NTPC Ltd, Hindalco, HDFC Bank, Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd., ONGC, Reliance Enrygy and Ambuja Cement.     

Tata Motors, ITC, Maruti Udyog, Grasim Ind, Bharti Tele, SBI, TCS, Jaiprak Asso, Satyam Compu and BHEL were the major losers at the BSE Sensex.
