The eyes of the viewers will be firmly glued on their TV sets before the declaration of the final results of the Femina Miss India 2008 contest.

And Finally, Simran Kaur Mundi, a 22-year old of Mumbai, was crowned Miss India Universe 2008 title at the grand finale of the Femina Miss India 2008, held at the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai on Saturday.

Parvathy Omanakuttam from Kerala was crowned the Miss India World 2008, while Harshita Saxena of Goa was named Miss India Earth 2008.

 The three were selected from the final five contestants including Harshita, Tanvi, Parvathy, Simran and Sangeeta C.

The Femina Miss India 2008, one of the most hoped-for yearly events, saw India’s top 29 beauties competing for the three most honored titles, Miss India Universe, Miss India World & Miss India Earth, at the glittering function.

All the three achievers will symbolize India at the international beauty pageants during the year.

Besides, the unforgettable evening saw superb performances by Bollywood starlets Kareena Kapoor, Biapasha Basu and Sameera Reddy.

The contestants walked the ramp choreographed by Hemant Trivedi, whereas Southern superstar, R Madhavan hosted the show.
