Hamburg - SV Hamburg captain David Jarolim on Tuesday extended his contract until 2012.

The improved contract is said to worth more than two million euros a year for the Czech international, who joined the high-flying Bundesliga club in August 2003.

"This is my sixth season at Hamburg. I am very happy here and want to improve," the 29-year-old said.

Coach Martin Jol complimented the midfielder. "I am very happy that he is staying, he is an example for other players." (dpa)
