Tata Tea has announced its annual financial results for the fiscal year 2009-10 and it has managed to post an impressive 147% rise in net profit figure. The company has posted a profit after tax of Rs. 391.47 crore i. e. Rs. 3.91 billion for the year that ended in 31st March, 2010.

The profit after tax was reported to be Rs. 159.06 crore i. e. Rs. 1.59 billion for the financial year 2008-09. This net profit figure has grown up by 146.11% in this year as compared to the last fiscal. This has been informed by the firm in a filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange.

So far as the total income of the firm are concerned, it has fallen down to Rs. 1, 524.64 crore i. e. Rs. 15.24 billion during fiscal year 2009-10. It was Rs. 1, 836.84 crore i. e. Rs. 18.36 billion for last year. This has been informed in the same filing at the Bombay Stock Exchange. The board has decided to recommend a dividend of to its investors for the financial year 2009-10 with the approval of share holders.
