Google and Yahoo announced the deal in June, but said they would delay implementation until October to allow regulators to review the agreement. The companies control an estimated 90 per cent of online search advertising in the United States, and the proposed pact sparked opposition from large advertisers and competitors like Microsoft.

Google, which earlier in June had invented a Map Maker for a small group of island nations that are deprived of sophisticated cartography data, has now adopted wiki approach to fill out the white spaces on its map. This approach, particularly being made for developing nation will help one find better and thus make good mapping data available.

India, which has been added on Google Maps by the company along with other countries, could be modified in the same. Google, which has taken a step ahead with this recent technology, is also considering adding more countries in sometime.
