Kourou/Paris  - With its ninth successful rocket launch mission in 12 months, European space company Arianespace appears set to establish itself as a world market leader in satellite transport.

Ariane 5 ECA rocket took off from the launch centre in Kourou in French Guiana on Thursday night to place communication satellites Superbird-7 and AMC 21 into orbit.

"I think it is a perfect illustration of the fact that high performance, reliability and increase of pace can go hand-in-hand," said Arianespace chairman and CEO Jean-Yves Le Gall.

Washington, August 15 : A motorcycle that is powered by compressed air has been developed by researchers at the National Central University in Taiwan.

Yu-Ta Shen and Yean-Ren Hwang, the researchers behind this discovery, say that such motorcycles may prove very helpful in fighting air pollution.

They have revealed that the current prototype can hold a little more than two and a half gallons of compressed air, which would carry the bike and driver about three-quarters of a mile.

The Indian Air Force today got the delivery of the first indigenously assembled Hawk MK-132 advanced jet trainer by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Air Chief Marshal, F Major was the one who was formally handed over the aircraft.

By the handing over the HAL’s first Adour powered Hawk AJT at Bangalore, it is for sure that there would the beginning of a new chapter for the public sector company engaged in defense production.

“The IAF is acquiring 66 Hawk MK-132 AJT aircraft of which 24 are being supplied by BAE Systems in a flyaway condition. The remaining 42 will be built by HAL at its aircraft division here under licence in three phases,” as reported by Mr Ashok Baweja, chairman, HAL
