Unfit Jeev out of PGA event

Jeev Milkha SinghJeev Milkha Singh, who is almost certain of playing fulltime on the PGA Tour next year, has withdrawn from this week's Frys. com Open at the Grayhawk Golf Club — Raptor, Scottsdale, Arizona, with an injured right ankle.

"I was really looking forward to playing, but unfortunately, I had to pull out with an injured right ankle," said Jeev. "It is the same injury that bothered me last year around the PGA Championship. I thought I had gotten over it, but that's apparently not the case."

Jeev said he did not wear shoes of the right specification last week at the Justin Timberlake's and that could have been the problem.

"The ankle started feeling funny during Friday's second round, and by the time I started warming up for Saturday's third round, I had intense pain.”

Gangjee earns berth in Hong Kong Open

Rahil Gangjee will tee off against the likes of Rory Mcllroy after securing one of the top three spots to the $2.5 million UBS Hong Kong Open at the international qualifying tournament.

Gangjee posted a five-under-par 67 to book his place in next month's showpiece event when play was finally completed after being suspended due to inclement weather at the Palm Resort Golf and Country Club on Tuesday.

Chadha holds on to lead

Local lad Abhijeet Chadha nosed ahead to take sole lead after the second round of the LG Samarvir Sahi Chandigarh Open. Chadha returned a card of four-over 76.
