Verizon clocks faster than stipulated hopes- challenges AT&T
Verizon wireless corroborated the reports of the wireless data- LTE (Long Term Evolution) which have gained momentum and were speedier than the expected performance. This was followed by a claim which stated that it will beat its rival AT&T in the coming 12-18 months.
Verizon Wireless had performed the 4G field trials in Boston and Seattle and have revealed that the downlink average rates- 5 to 12 Mbit/sec and of 2 to 5 Mbit/sec, which will give mobile customers browsing speeds equivalent to a typical wired home Internet experience.
The company is planning to deliver 4G capabilities in 25 to 30 markets and roughly to 100 million people by 2010's end.
The 4G applications for industrial purpose are also in pipeline with the developments in charge with Ericsson. Enterprises will use LTE to facilitate many applications at once, for video transmissions and for exchanging data without wireless aid.
