Virus shuts an Isle of Man hospital ward
It was the effect of a stomach bug which led to the closure of a ward at an Isle of Man hospital. This came in highlight when seven patients and two nurses were hit by a stomach bug.
At the ward 20 of the Nobles' Hospital it was mayhem when the outbreak of the stomach virus occurred.
The virus causes a viral gastroenteritis.
The ward has been forced to suspend new admissions and visitors are strictly advised not to wander around near the vicinity of the ward.
The health officials are concerned and have declared the outbreak of viral gastroenteritis.
And it comes as a warning for all those suffering from sickness and diarrhea symptoms. While H1N1 virus is creating havoc, cases like these also cause a lot of panic.
This gives a lesson that patients suffering from virus attacks must not visit a hospital until they have been clear of symptoms for 48 hours, the hospital authorities said.
This doesn't mean that the ones staying inside should not do anything. They should use every possible means to save self from getting infected.
