Preity Zinta, probably the most versatile actress in Bollywood has ever produced. From being a superb dancer to portraying the best acting skills, this cute girl has won many hearts.

Today she turned 34.

Preity Zinta was born in Shimla on January 31, 1975. She is the daughter of Durganand Zinta and Nilprabha Zinta and has two brothers. Upon graduating from the boarding school at age 18, Preity enrolled at St Bede's College in Shimla. She graduated college with an English honours degree, and then started a graduate programme in psychology.

She acquired a post-graduate degree in Criminal Psychology, but that was not to be her life's work - Bollywood came calling - and she made her acting debut in ‘Dil Se’ in 1998 followed by a role in Soldier the same year.

After that, she was recognized for her character as a teenage single mother in ‘Kya Kehna’ (2000). She subsequently played different character types, and in doing so has been accredited with altering the image of a Hindi film heroine.

Apart from being a top actress, this dimpled beauty together with her boy friend Ness Wadia and others acquired ownership for the Mohali-based Twenty20 cricket team of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008.

This multi-faceted heroine has also been involved with different charities and has backed ill-treated and down trodden women's causes in the country. She stood up against the cause of female infanticide and has also promoted blood donation. Moreover, she also participated in AIDS awareness drives and campaigns to clean up Mumbai.

This all proved that the girl really has a golden heart!
