‘Aaja Nachle’ Really Gives Flashing Comeback To Madhuri Dixit!

Madhuri_Dixit_Aaja_NachleAaja Nachle has really given a flashing comeback to Madhuri Dixit. Dixit has really played dynamic role in the film, which is scripted by Jaideep Sahni. The story opens as a dancer, Diya (played by Madhuri Dixit) returns to a small conservative town years after she eloped with her American husband, married and settled down in the US. She comes back to her dusty desi domain with the cynical little daughter who keeps wondering she can go home.

Cinematographer turned director Anil Mehta furnishes the story of cultural clash and the prodigal daughter’s return to the roots. There is a much talk of “sanskriti” – “kalaa” and “sabhyata” in the dialogues. Besides the majestic Madhuri, the rest of talented cast also gets seriously supportive in the film. In the vast cast are Ranbir Shorey as Madhuri’s still besotted jilted husband-to-be and Vinay Pathak as her stuffy landlord who learns to loosen up.

At the start, small town girl Diya (Madhuri Dixit) disregards wish of her parents that she marry Mohan (Ranvir Shoery) and elopes with an American photographer. When she returns she founds that her guru has died, and his dance school, Ajanta, is about to make way for a shopping mall.

Diya decides to shake her townspeople out of their apathetic stupor by proving that “Kala ko shehar ki nahi, shehar ko kala ki zaroorat hai” that people need art. Madhuri Dixit is wonderful in this part where performer and person fuse into one. Madhuri has become successful in drawing people to the theatre with obvious pleasure of basking in the hooting applause.

The main cast of the film includes Madhuri Dixit, Konkona Sen Sharma, Kunal Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, and Irrfan Khan. Yashpal Sharma, Raghuvir Yadav, Akshaye Khanna are some of the fine actors associated with ‘Aaja Nachle’.
