Guwahati Jan 5 : Assam Governor Shiv Charan Mathur today said that State Government has decided to set up a specialised body on the lines of the National Security Guards (NSG) to deal with explosive devices.
Addressing the Winter Session of the State Assembly, he said, "In the wake of increasing terror attacks in the state, a specialised body would be formed for dealing with explosive devices."
"A number of decisions have also been taken for improving the functioning of police to counter such incidents in the future," he added.
There will be altogether six working days during the Session.
The House is likely to pass as many as nine Government bills including the separation of Judiciary from the executives in the two hill districts of Karbi Anglong and North Cachar, and setting up of private sector Don Bosco University in the State.
The issues of security lapses and infiltration of Jehadi elements to the State from Bangladesh may also come up for discussion during the session. (ANI)
