Bayern Munich back to winning days Hamburg - Bayern Munich, who were humbled 4-0 at Barcelona midweek in a Champions League game found back to their winning ways Saturday as they beat Eintracht Frankfurt 4-0 in a Bundesliga game. First half goals by Franck Ribery, Luca Toni and Lucio gave the home side a comfortable lead and Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger gave Bayern the victory that took them to second place in the table behind VfL Wolfsburg.

Wolfsburg, who won 2-1 at Moenchengladbach, are three points ahead of Bayern on 54 points. SV Hamburg are also on 51 points and could move to second in the standings if they win at VfB Stuttgart on Sunday.

Hertha Berlin lost 2-0 at Hanover 96 and stay on 49 points in fourth place. Berlin will also be without striker Andrey Voronin in their next games, as the Ukrainian was sent off late in the game.

Schalke 04 moved closer to an UEFA Cup place with a 2-0 victory at home against Karlsruhe, while Energie Cottbus gave themselves some hope of escaping relegation with a 2-1 victory at home against fellow-strugglers Arminia Bielefeld.

The final games saw Hoffenheim continue their downward slide with a 3-0 defeat at home against VfL Bochum, while Borussia Dortmund came from behind to beat Cologne 3-1.(dpa)
