Aamir Khan is really a perfectionist, and he proves his perfection in his work.

Now, the date for the release of his much-awaited movie ‘3 Idiots’ has been announced.

Film’s producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has decided to release the movie on Christmas day (25th December 2009).

According to him, Christmas is really lucky for Aamir as his previous mega hits including ‘Ghajini’ (2008) and ‘Taare Zameen Par’ (2007) were also released on the Christmas weekend

The film’s first schedule in Ladakh and Simla had already been finished in September 08. The second schedule (33 days) started in early January 09, is currently being shot at IIM, Bangalore.

The cast and crew members will come back next month (Feb 2009) to finish the last schedule of the film in Mumbai.

The film will be 80% complete after the Bangalore schedule.

Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the film is loosely based on a famous novel, Five Point Someone by Indian writer Chetan Bhagat. The star cast of the film includes Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi and Boman Irani. The film also marks the debut of Mona Singh (Jassi fame).

While Abhijat Joshi and Raju Hirani have written the screenplay, the soundtrack of the film will be composed by Shantanu Moitra with lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkire.

The sources said, “Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Raju Hirani have realised that Aamir has been extremely lucky with his films released during the Christmas season.”

Chopra confirmed the news, “3 Idiots is a happy film. Christmas is the perfect time to release such a life-affirming work. It would add to the spirit of happiness and good cheer of Christmas.”
