Delhi Deputy Mayor S S Bajwa dies

New Delhi, Oct 21 : The Deputy Mayor of Delhi, S S Bajwa, who was badly injured after falling from the terrace of his house following an attack by monkeys, died in hospital on Sunday.

The 52-year-old Corporator from Anand Vihar ward succumbed to the head injuries. He is survived by a wife and a son.

Bajwa was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Apollo hospital on Saturday with multiple injuries, but he could not survive as his condition deteriorated on Sunday morning, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Delhi President Harsh Vardhan said.

Bajwa was elected to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) for the first time in April this year.

In past, the Delhi High Court has on many occasions directed the civic body to contain monkey menace in the city. (ANI)
