Digitial frames offer good images, but some have failings

Digitial frames offer good images, but some have failings Hamburg  - Almost all digital frames offer good images, but a test by Germany's Computer Bild magazine highlights problems such as energy consumption.

Some of the frames tested use lots of energy. The most energy-intensive model tested, when operated 12 hours a day, consumed 12.35 euros (16.50 dollars) worth of energy a year. The most energy-efficient model consumed the equivalent of 3 euros a year, the report said.

The battery life spans of some models were criticized for their brevity and others exhausted their battery supplies after displaying images for only 30 minutes. Four devices also failed tests because their signals either disrupted nearby electrical devices or were themselves disrupted by neighbouring machines.

The magazine tested eight digital frames priced under 100 euros and eight more priced at less than 150 euros. (dpa)
