Educomp Solutions to pick 76% stake in Bangalore-based firm

Educomp Solutions has informed that it will invest Rs 10.75 crore over the next two years to acquire a 76% stake in A-Plus Education Solution Pvt. Ltd.

Bangalore-based A-Plus Education operates under the brand name of "Purple Leap" and focuses on the area of improving the employability of college graduates. The company will focus on preparing students currently studying in over 15,000 colleges in the country and will make them workplace ready.

The company was founded in 2005 by Amit Bansal, Hemant Somani, Vinay Nijhawan and Chandrasekhar Shetty, all graduates of XLRI and IIM Bangalore.

Educomp said in a communication that it will leverage its very large customer base across 5 million students in India, which may grow up to 10 million by FY10. The company will provide best-in-class career options for them so that they are economically empowered and are able to fill India's large and growing talent gap.
