In a regulatory filing Friday, the IT bellwether said its consolidated revenue for the quarter (Q3) under review shot up 28 percent YoY to Rs. 9,997 crore (Rs. 99.97 billion).

BMTC to rearrange metro feeder bus services The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) is planning to rearrange the metro feeder bus service that began on various routes to bring commuters to the newly opened Namma Metro in the city.

BMTC was ready with the feeder service even before the launch of the Metro operations. The civic body has deployed 60 buses on 24 feeder routes for the six metro stations at a frequency of 10 minutes. However, the after-launch results have not been attractive for the BMTC.

In a regulatory filing Wednesday, the IT bellwether said its consolidated revenue for the quarter under review (Q2) grew 17 percent YoY to Rs. 8,099 crore and eight percent sequentially.

Earnings per share (EPS) at Rs. 33.36 is 9.7 percent higher YoY and 11 percent sequentially.

Every day since Aug 16, around 30 people here observe a day's fast.

Their test reported in the American Chemical Society (ACS) journal Analytical Chemistry can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of treatment for tuberculosis which is on a rampage in the developing world, the ACS said in a statement.

Canara Bank net up 79 percent in fourth quarter

Canara BankBangalore, May 5 : Leading state-run Canara Bank posted net profit of Rs. 899 crore for the fourth quarter (January-March) of fiscal 2010-11, registering a whopping 79 percent year-on-year (YoY) growth.

For fiscal 2011, however, net profit increased 33 percent (YoY) to Rs. 4,026 crore from Rs. 3,021 crore a year ago.

"Record cash recovery (Rs. 2,032 crore), lower provisioning (Rs. 181 crore) and higher income from core banking business have shot up net profit to 79 percent YoY in the fourth quarter," Canara Bank chairman and managing director S. Raman told reporters here.

We have created dedicated lines for the first two and a software layer for the third, with a focus on business process outsourcing (BPO) platform," Premji told reporters here.

Azim PremjiBangalore, April 27 : Wipro has declared final dividend of Rs. 4 for each share of Rs. 2 par value, amounting to 200 percent for fiscal 2010-11.

"With an interim dividend of Rs. 2 per share or 100 percent, the total dividend for fiscal under review (FY 2011) is Rs. 6 per share or 300 percent," the company said in a statement here Wednesday.

Accounting for 32 percent of the company's net profit of Rs. 5,298 crore (Rs. 53 billion), the total dividend payout will be Rs. 1,696 crore.

Under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), net income for FY 2011 was $1.2 billion and total revenue was $6.98 billion.

Under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), net income is $309 million and total revenue $1.86 billion.

In a regulatory filing, the IT bellwether Friday said consolidated income during the fiscal under review (FY 2011) was Rs. 27,501 crore (Rs. 275 billion), an increase of 21 percent YoY.
