German international Frings to miss Bundesliga game

German international Frings to miss Bundesliga game Bremen - International Torsten Frings will miss Werder Bremen's Bundesliga match against Borussia Dortmund on the weekend and seems likely to have to withdraw from the Germany squad for the World Cup qualifiers on March 28 and April 1.

The midfielder has an ankle injury that will force him to miss the game against Dortmund and makes him doubtful for the games against Liechtenstein in Leipzig and in Cardiff against Wales.

Werder Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf said that he thinks Frings will miss the two international matches. "This is not a matter of two or three days, it will probably affect the national team as well."

Schaaf will also be without suspended defender Naldo, as well as captain Frank Baumann. Striker Markus Rosenberg has also had to withdraw from the squad against Dortmund.

Schaaf though, is going to Dortmund hopeful of seeing his side continue a run of seven competitive games without defeat. "If we want to win, we have to work as well as we have in the last few weeks." (dpa)
