Huge Setback for Aamir: HC Stays The Release Of ‘Ghajini’Here’s sad news for perfectionaist Khan aka the Bollywood legend Aamir Khan fans.

One of the most anticipated films of the year, Ghajini starring Aamir Khan may not be released on Christmas Day.

On Tuesday, the all-India release of the film has been stayed by the Madras High Court. In its order, the Madras High Court has asked the producer of the film to not release the film.

The much awaited film ‘Ghajini’ produced under the Geetha Arts banner by Allu Aravind is directed by A. R. Murugadoss. The film is a remake of the 2005's Tamil film (of a same name), which was also directed by Muragadoss.

A. Chandrasekaran, the producer of the original Tamil film, filed a suit claiming that the producers of the Hindi remake had “fabricated documents to claim ownership over the remake rights.

Appearing for the petitioner, A.R.L. Sundaresan said, “The judge has accepted our plea that Geetha Arts and director A.R. Murugadoss had fabricated documents to claim ownership over the remake rights of the movie ‘Ghajini’, which our clients had not assigned at all.”

According to an estimate, nearly Rs 140 million on Ghajini had been spent on the Hindi version's publicity alone. The amount is considered as the costliest marketing campaign ever to promote a Bollywood movie.

The story of Ghajini revolves around the life of a once-rich businessman who suffers from short term memory loss following a violent encounter

The film was scheduled to hit the box-office on Christmas day (December 25th).
