At Awards for Retail Excellence during the Asia Retail Congress 2009, Mr. Pawan Jain, ‘Logistics Guru’ and CMD, Safexpress, Leader in the Supply Chain Management and Logistics Industry, was honored and felicitated with the ‘Retail Leadership Award’.

The high-status award was given in appreciation of the achievements of Mr. Pawan Jain with regard to bringing novelty, superiority and excellence in Retail and Logistics. Asia Retail Congress is one of the vital international platforms to endorse world-class retail practices. The focus of the two-day summit was to discuss and persuade the grave issues regarding the retail division during the global slowdown.

The prestigious Awards for Retail Excellence were held on the day one of the Asia Retail Congress. Mr. Jain was amongst some of the most successful names in the business fraternity to be honoured for excellence in their respective categories.

On getting the ‘Retail Leadership Award’, for his matchless involvement to the retail industry by backing the growth of a healthy and well-organized Supply Chain Management system, Mr. Pawan Jain, ‘Logistics Guru’ and CMD, Safexpress, stated, “It is indeed a proud moment for everyone associated with Safexpress. The primary idea of this year’s summit was ‘The Retail Renaissance’. Topical issues including Surviving the meltdown, Collaborative retail support – IT, Supply Chain and Logistics, Future trends and concepts in retail, among others were discussed at the forum.

Corporate honchos from across the industry including the likes of Mr. Thomas Varghese, CEO, Aditya Birla Retail Limited, Mr. Vinod Sawhny, President and COO, Bharti Retail Pvt Ltd, among others shared their views on the retail industry at the forum.   

During the same event, Safexpress was honored with the award for ‘Effective Retail through Supply Chain.’
