No portfolio for Karnataka Ministers till June 6

BJPBangalore, May 31: Portfolios will be allocated to all the 29 Ministers of the newly sworn in Bharatiya Janata Party Government only on June 6, after the Yeddyurappa led Ministry passes the floor test.

Yeddyurappa will seek the trust vote on June 6.

Until then he will be handling all the departments in the state.

It has been reported that there is a demand for major portfolios like Home, Public Works, Energy, Urban Development, Irrigation and Mines.

Apparantly, Yeddyurappa is keen on retaining the Departments of Finance and Excise, the portfolios he held as Deputy Chief Minister in the previous JD(S)-BJP coalition government.

The new Ministers are Govind M. Karjol, K. S. Eshwarappa, V. S. Acharya, Mumtaz Ali Khan, C. M. Udasi, R. Ramachandra Gowda, R. Ashok, S. A. Ravindranath, G. Janardhan Reddy, Vishveshwara Hegde Kageri, B. N. Bacche Gowda, G. Karunakar Reddy, Basavaraj Bommai, Shobha Karandlaje, B. Sriramulu, S. Suresh Kumar, Krishna Palemar, Revu Naik Belamagi, Aravind Limbavali, Krishnaiah Shetty, P. M. Narendra Swamy, H. Halappa, Venkataramanappa, D. Sudhakar, Goolihatti D. Shekar, Shivaraj Tangadagi, M. Rudrappa Nirani, Lakshman Savadi and S. K. Bellubbi.

Yeddyurappa will head the 26th Government in the State.

He also headed the 25th Government, a coalition with the JD(S), for a week before the JD(S) withdrew support. (ANI)
