Chandigarh, July 11 : Moderate to heavy rainfall greeted Chandigarh and its surrounding areas Sunday morning, making the weather somewhat cool and pleasant.

However, it was soon followed by bright sunshine.

Weathermen have predicted more rainfall in various parts of Punjab and Haryana.

"We are expecting light to moderate showers in various parts of this region till Sunday night. We also expect heavy rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms at many places in Punjab on Monday. It could bring a marginal dip in the mercury during the day," a Met official said.

London, July 11:  Pope Benedict XVI has turned down the invitation to meet Prince Charles on his first state visit to Britain in September, claiming he is "too busy", a media report said Sunday.

The two men will not get together even though Prince Charles will be in Scotland when the Pontiff starts his three-day trip by calling on the Queen and Prince Philip at Holyrood House in Edinburgh, the Mail Online reported.

Havana, July 11 : A Cuban website published photographs over the weekend of revolutionary leader Fidel Castro making his first public appearance since he resigned as president in mid-2006.

The official Cubadebate website ran five photographs taken by Castro's son, Alex, during a visit Wednesday to the National Scientific Research Centre.

The former president, 83, commemorated the 45th anniversary of the centre's founding in sports attire and held animated conversations with the managers and workers, the website said.

Auckland, July 11: A popular rugby club in New Zealand has been facing criticism for using topless models at a fundraising event.

The stunt led to calls for the New Zealand Rugby Union to confront sexist attitudes within the game. The Auckland University Rugby Football Club hired semi-naked women to parade around at its annual pretest luncheon

The last week event was also attended by former Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters.

Former All Black captain Murray Mexted, who delivered the keynote address, described the women who stripped to raise money as "PR girls for rugby", The New Zealand Herald reported.

MySpace owner News Corp has rebuffed all rumors that claim of selling the ailing social network.

It refers to the article which came up in The Guardian stated that News Corp is planning to abandon the platform, and at the same time plans to trade when its $900 million advertising deal with Google expires.

Corp's digital media Chief Jonathan Miller, shrunk off listing out that company is in no mood to sell social network. On the other hand is planning to bring out an updated version of the platform in the near future.
