A novel study published in the journal Royal Society Open Science claimed that parasites encourage cannibalistic behaviour in some animals.

In the study, the researchers studied the effect of the common parasite Pleistophora mulleri on adult shrimps. The researchers came to know that adult shrimps infected with the parasite were more likely to eat their own kind than uninfected adults were.

As per the researchers, the shrimps can sometimes display cannibalism behavior, but when they are infected then the behaviour increases. The parasite Pleistophora mulleri is quite tiny and rests in the shrimp’s muscles.

On one hand ‘Damages’ was intensely serialized within seasons, ‘Bloodline’ on the other very skillfully portrays family tragedy.

Each season of ‘Damages’ was largely a reboot, bringing in a handful of big name supporting actors to play along with Glenn Close and Rose Byrne.

People were enjoying sunshine at Jacksonville Beach, but their fun got spoiled when someone noticed a shark fin in shallow water, making the beachgoers come out of water. The incident took place just before 3pm.

After sometime, swimmers went back near the edge of the water and took photos of the shark. Soon, they realized the presence of another shark near Jacksonville Pier. No one was injured.

One of the persons named Admir Osmanovic, who watched the incident, shared that he was playing soccer and noticed that everyone was staring at something. When he went to see what everyone was seeing, it was a shark.

As per him, it was about a six-foot shark. People came out of the water, but later they were watching the shark and were taking its pictures.

Internet company Google and social network company Facebook have been involved in an algorithm war to come up with the perfect facial detection system. Now, California headquartered Google claims that it has developed new FaceNet system, which is practically perfect. According to the company, the FaceNet system gets the right person more than 99% of the time.

The invasive fire ant is creating mayhem on Vancouver airport runways. The species continue to make way virtually into every district in the Lower Mainland.

Last summer, these species were responsible for causing runway delays at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) as birds swarmed to eat the ants are crashed into several planes.

This has forced airport officials to close the runway for five to eight minutes each time to clear away the mess.

Jennifer Grenz, project manager of the Invasive Species Council of Metro Vancouver said, "On a warm day it's going to look like an ant volcano exploded out of the ground. That's how aggressive they are”.
