Titan earmarks Rs 450cr for capital expenditure in FY2013-14Titan Industries Ltd (TIL) has announced its plans to spend Rs 450 crore on retail expansion and new manufacturing units during the current fiscal year.

The amount earmarked for capital expenditure in FY2013-14 represents a growth of three times over last year, in which the company had spent Rs 150 crore.

June rocket launch delay not to affect India's other 2013 probes

ISROChennai, June 6 : Even though the June 12 rocket launch has been put off to June-end or the first week of July because of the failure of a component, Indian space agency officials do not expect this setback to impact other rocket launch plans.

Even the ambitious Mars mission planned this year would not be affected, officials said.

"We have sufficient time between the launches and we are confident of closing 2013 with five launches. One rocket launch (carrying Saral satellite) is already over in February. So, only four remain," a senior official at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) told IANS, seeking anonymity.

Mexican firm signs ship, tech deals with Chinese companies

PemexMexico City, June 6 : State-owned Petroleos Mexicanos, or Pemex, signed two agreements with Chinese firms covering ships, equipment and technology for Mexico's oil industry.

Pemex CEO Emilio Lozoya signed the agreements Tuesday during Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Mexico, the state-owned oil giant said in a statement.

Under the terms of the first agreement, state-owned Export-Import Bank of China will provide a $1 billion line of credit "for the acquisition of ships and equipment for offshore maritime activities", Pemex said.

Venezuela, US agree to improve ties

Elias-JauaCaracas, June 6 : Venezuela and the US have agreed to find ways to improve their diplomatic relations which have been tense since August 2010, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Elias Jaua said.

The agreement was reached Wednesday during Jaua's meeting with US Secretary of State John Kerry on the sidelines of a Organization of American States (OAS) general assembly meeting held in Antigua, Guatemala, reported Xinhua.

"We trust that the meeting with John Kerry will mark the beginning of a good relation of respect between Venezuela and the United States," Jaua said in a statement released by Venezuela's official media.
