Vienna - The price for OPEC-produced oil rose above 50 dollars for one barrel (159 litres) of OPEC crude, the group announced Tuesday.

The price hit 50.18 dollars for a barrel, the cartel reported. Last Friday, the price had been set at 48.77 dollars per barrel.

The oil cartel calculates a basket price based on 12 brands produced by its members. (dpa)
