Catherine Zeta Jones, the next ‘Doctor Who’?

London, December 19 : Catherine Zeta Jones may run as the top contender to bag the role of `Doctor Who' in the next series, according to the writer behind the Brit sci-fi TV programme.

Executive producer Russell T Davies has revealed that the idea of having a female Doctor Who would be a welcoming one and that the Swansea born Oscar-winner could be perfect for the role, having

"Catherine Zeta Jones would be great," the Telegraph quoted him as saying.

The actress was said to have an added advantage of her Welsh heritage since the show had been filmed in Cardiff while Davies himself was a Welsh.

Zeta-Jones, 39, who is married to actor Michael Douglas and has two children with him, admits that she gets angry if she misses her mealtime, the China Daily reported.

“I’m pretty easy-going, which comes from all those years of doing theatre. I''m not a grandiose movie star at all, but I do like to know when lunch is going to be,” she said.

Catherine Zeta-Jones tipped to play Cleopatra in $30m 3D musical

London, Oct 25 : Welsh actress Catherine Zeta-Jones has been tipped to play the role of Egyptian queen Cleopatra in a 30million-dollar, three-dimensional Hollywood musical.

A Variety magazine report describes the film, Cleo, as a “3-D live action rock ‘n’ roll musical”, the Independent reported.

It will be directed by Steven Soderbergh, and Aussie actor Hugh Jackman, who starred in X-Men, is in negotiations to play her Roman lover, Mark Antony.

The musical score for the film is being composed by rock band ‘Guided by Voices’, and its former bass player, James Greer, is said to have written the script.
