Heath Ledger's family delighted by Golden Globe honourWashington, Jan 12: Late Heath Ledger's family is delighted after the actor won the Golden Globes Award for his portrayal of the `Joker' in Dark Knight.

The late actor won the award in the Best Actor in a Supporting Role category.

"We are overjoyed for him," People magazine quoted his father Kim Ledger as saying.

"It''s wonderful" that Heath was honoured for his role in the action flick," he added.

Ledger was unable to make to the award ceremony due to personal reasons.

Ledger played The Joker in the movie, and was posthumously nominated for the role.

"I do. I don''t know why I do," US magazine quoted him as saying at the Critics'' Choice Awards in Santa Monica, California.

"I totally have no say whatsoever, but I do believe Heath is deserving of a nomination. I think he took a well-known character in movie history and made it his own and really resonated with the people.
