New York, Nov 30 - Oscar winning actress Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal, who have been dating for the past two years, have split, said a source.

People. com reports that no further details were given about their separation.

Witherspoon, 33, and Gyllenhaal, 28, worked together in the 2007 movie "Rendition", after which rumours started floating about them as an off-screen couple. By the summer of 2008, the rumours appeared to be confirmed when the two spent an extended Bastille Day holiday in Paris.

Washington, June 9 : Brokeback Mountain stars Anne Hathaway and Jake Gyllenhaal may once again appear together in a new film about a sex drug salesman.

According to reports, they are being lined up to play lovers in the big screen adaptation of author Jamie Reidy''s non-fiction book Hard Sell: Confessions of a Viagra Salesman.

Gyllenhaal will play the lead in Love and Other Drugs.

Washington, Apr 21 : Hollywood couple Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal were spotted having a steamy weekend in the desert, as they cozied up to one another.

The two were seen spending time at the La Quinta Resort & Club in La Quinta, Calif, having breakfast at Twenty 6 restaurant and later lounging by the pool.

"Reese looked cute in a hat and bikini," People magazine quoted an eyewitness as saying.

"She was in a great mood and kept chatting with Jake between sips of a piña colada," the eyewitness added.

Washington, Mar 11 : Brit actress Gemma Arterton could not help herself from using her tongue when filming kissing scenes with actor Jake Gyllenhaal, even though it had been understood that she was not to.

Arterton, 23, who co-star's with Gyllenhaal in the upcoming movie Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time, plays the part of a sixth century princess, while he the prince.

"There's an unspoken no-tongues rule on set. But I got so carried away, it kind of slipped out," Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

Washington, January 28 : Hollywood actor Jake Gyllenhaal was reportedly seen checking in at a Los Angeles court as part of the jury selection process on Tuesday, in connection with an upcoming misdemeanour battery trial.

According to TMZ. com, the 28-year-old star went through court questioning in a private room to determine juror suitability.

He will be returning to court on Wednesday to find out whether he has been picked, reports Contactmusic.

Madonna was considered for jury service in the city last year, but was dismissed by the judge during the selection process.
